  • Description

    The Emdom/MM Universal Rig Strap (URS) Sling is a design collaboration between Emdom USA and MM from www.militarymorons.com. It is designed as a simple, low profile, and lightweight rig attached single point sling. It is primarily designed to be utilized with an AR-15/M4/M16 rifle with a sling attachment receiver end plate. It will also work with other weapon systems with a similar configuration. The sling is composed of two parts that split via side release buckle allowing quick emergency detachment or for quick swapping between weapon systems. One end is a universal weapon loop attached to your weapon. The other end is attached to an armor carrier or chest rig and features an innovative instant length adjustment Z pull handle. The URS Sling is provided at a length of 32" which can be cut to preferred length.

    CAUTION: Be sure the portion of the URS Sling mounted to your rig is attached to something strong and stable enough to support the weight of your weapon system.

    • Attachment:The URS sling is designed to be mounted to the support side. It can be anchored to D-rings, PALS webbing, around a shoulder strap, etc.

     

    • 32" long:URS Sling is 32" long which allows it to be attached to the rear of a rig and run over the shoulder. Once installed, excess webbing can be cut.

     

    • Hardware:Main quick release and attachment buckle is an ITW GhillieTex side release buckle. ITW 1" metal rounded oval slides are used for adjustment and securing webbing. These metal slides are much thinner and stronger than plastic hardware. They also have a better grip on the 1” webbing, preventing any slipping.

     

    • Two part configuration:URS sling is split into two parts: universal weapon connector and quick length adjust rig attachment. Both parts are combined via ITW GhillieTEX side release buckle. Configuration allows quick emergency release and easy swapping between weapon systems (with same weapon connector installed).

     

    • Universal weapon connector:Constructed of 1” mil-spec webbing loop that can be routed through weapon sling swivel or sling attachment receiver end plate. The loop also allows utilization of HK style snap hook, ITW MASH hook, or other sling hardware. Loose webbing end is dually secured by an ITW 1" metal rounded oval slide and a 1" webbing retention loop. A layer of a Hypalon material is sewn to the interior of the webbing loop for durability and protection from wear caused by the metal sling swivel or hardware.

     

    • Quick length adjustment:Constructed of 1" mil-spec webbing and is routed through the male end of an ITW GhillieTEX side release buckle creating an adjustable free end. One end is attached to an armor carrier or chest rig, with the other end featuring a Z pull for quick length adjustment (see www.militarymorons.com for details).

     

    • Set-up:Attach the weapon connector to your weapon, anchor the rig strap to the support side (shoulder/chest area) of a suitable rig (vest, harness, plate carrier, or armor), buckle the weapon connector and the rig strap together, adjust the sling length through the Z pull (see www.militarymorons.com for recommend setup and usage).

     

    • Advantages:No interference from a loop wrapped around the body, universal attachment to any suitable anchor point, quick length adjustment, ambidextrous weapon operation, rapid shoulder to shoulder transfer, drops primary weapon to support side allowing unobstructed access to secondary, quick emergency weapon detachment, and quick swapping between weapon systems (with same weapon connector installed).
